ETHEL MERMAN

What a belter. She was loud, she was brash, and she had great hats. And, the mark of a true diva, she is frequently imitated by drag acts. Here she is giving her all in the famous 1954 film of the same name, I can't help miming along to this when I'm doing the ironing.

Hi there, I have just watched the clip of Ethel Merman when she was singing 'There's no Business' there was and never will be another like her, absolutely fantastic ! I loved that film too and used to watch it incessantly hehe.. I think I was born a bit too late 'cos I loved all the old musicals and b&w films. I must admit that I copied the code and will probably sing out the song when I too am wielding the dreaded iron. Thanks for the memory! Kate x

Elle peut, comme personne d'autre, projeter sa voix jusqu'au fond de la salle disait-on ! Avant l'apparition du micro .

Comme Edith Piaf !

Tu as encore des disques en vinyle ?
